The Inner Room introduces Devon St. Claire, veteran lover of the arts, well along on the personal journey of living, and imaginer-in-chief of fiction that is powerfully based in realities.  Winning a city-wide essay contest at age eleven was the genesis of a love of language resulting in a master's degree in the humanities and a teaching career.  Word-smithing nourished the author's students sometimes transforming their writing.  To illustrate some of the techniques she was presenting in class, she wrote an editorial comment to the editor at The Minneapolis Star who called to ask, "Got any more of these?"  Ultimately, St. Claire also wrote radio scripts for a philosophical series running in Portland, Honolulu, and on Radio Rhema, Christchurch, New Zealand.  The newspaper connection continued with essays in The Oregonian, The Columbian, and The San Francisco Examiner.  Then in 2005, St. Claire stood in the grotto on the island of Patmos and sensed she should explore writing fiction, drawing on a lifetime of being in love with words.   Coming out of that resolve, Memoir of THE HOUSE, He Came Crying, and Shadow Women are enjoying a good reception.
